Child, Youth, and Family Counseling
PVPSA's
counseling programs help keep students and families healthy and
strong. We provide quality counseling services at our main office,
located at 335 East Lake Avenue and at our community counseling
center at 240 East Lake Avenue to hundreds of children, youth,
families and adults each year.
Common
clinical issues we address include anxiety, depression, family
conflicts adn grief and loss transitions. We accept Medi-Cal,
private insurance and payments on a sliding fee scale. We work
to make access to mental health services easy for all community
members.
Our
counseling staff includes licensed therapists and interns on
Marriage Famaily Therapy (MFT) and Clinical Social Work (CSW)
tracks, as well as youth development specialists.

Substance
Abuse Programs
Through
the drug and alcohol counseling program at PVPSA,
counselors provide cutting-edge congnitive-behavioral
curricula to youth in need. PVPSA counselors
run drug and alcohol groups at all the PVUSD
middle and high schools, as well as at some of
the alternative schools. At our PVPSA offices,
the counselors offer after-school groups. Each
year, counselors serve over 400 youth in our
