Trainee/Intern Position as Kids Korner or SAP Therapist

Recruitment Period: We are accepting applicants for the 2017-2018 academic year beginning February 20, 2017 through April 29, 2017. For application instructions, please see below. Interviews of applicants will begin in early May. The deadline is subject to change.

Description: This position may be filled by graduate students seeking practicum placements as well as candidates who have completed their Master’s Program who are looking to acquire hours toward licensure.

Trainees and Interns are placed at either an elementary school (Kids Korner) or secondary school (SAP). These placements require a minimum of 17 hours per week commitment, over 2.5 or 3 days. Students are seen at the schools by Trainees or Interns, individually or in-group. Interns and Trainees also assist with crisis interventions at school site. Placements provide interns and trainees hands-on experience in wide range of issues and a diverse student population. Interns and Trainees become a part of the school that they are placed at and may attend various meetings involving their clients as they interface with the school. These placements offer a unique and valuable opportunity to develop their professional identity and enhance their clinical skills in a supportive setting.

Application Process: Applicants who are bilingual English/Spanish and/or have bicultural skills are encouraged to apply. All selected applicants are subject to background check and TB clearance.
