PARENT EDUCATION & ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

About the Position

Under the direction of the Director of Programs or designee, the parent education specialist will coordinate the implementation of evidenced-based prevention and community wellness services to youth, families, and community partners.  The Specialist will be working closely with City, County and school-based staff.

Pajaro Valley Prevention & Student Assistance, Inc (PVPSA) has been the leader of youth prevention and intervention services in the greater Pajaro Valley. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of parent/family education presentations, and engagement activities.

  • Confers with school administrators and community partners regarding the parenting programs

  • Coordinates all parent education programs/activities, meetings, workshops, and childcare accommodations

  • Provides and obtains information, explains programs and promotes parent participation in programs

  • Collects information necessary to assist in the evaluation of programs delivered

  • Serves as the liaison in community partnership meetings with governmental and non-governmental agencies and conducts public presentations as needed 

  • With support from the Program Director, ensures that program related reports are submitted as required.

Ability to:

  • Coordinate, advise and plan complex components of parenting programs

  • Plan, organize, and prioritize work to meet schedules and timelines

  • Act as liaison to a families

  • Develop work plans and monitor implementation of strategies and activities 

  • Manage multiple projects effectively 

Training & Experience

Requires an AA degree with two (2) years of progressively responsible experience OR a BA degree and at a year in an education implementation in a school setting or other youth/ family community service environment. Bilingual skills required (Spanish/English) 

Salary and Benefits

Salary Scale: $46,363- $49,275

Eligible for medical, dental, and other employee benefits
