SOUTH COUNTY TRIAGE GROUP

A COLLECTIVE EFFORT TO ADDRESS COVID IMPACTS IN THE PAJARO VALLEY

The South County Triage Group is a large collective of non-profits, public institutions and individuals serving the needs of families in South County. Since the beginning of Covid19  in March 2020, this group, under the leadership of PVPSA, has been meeting weekly and has grown in membership.

While this group was formed to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, they continue to meet and have made the decision to address the myriad of needs of the Pajaro Valley community.

On a bi-weekly basis representatives from the County’s Health Services Agency and other community based organizations and local represenatievs participate in these meetings and give updates regarding critical serices, programs and offerings for the Watsonville and Pajaro communities.

Since its inception, the South County Triage Group has maintained a set of common goals to support our work to meet the unique needs of South County families:

Providing the information and resources they need to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and remain healthy (consistent, accurate, culturally and linguistically appropriate messaging)

Achieving equity in public health and economic security during COVID-19, regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration, housing insecure, and socio-economic status.

Ensuring recognition and elevation of the voices and needs of essential workers in food production, service industry and low wage workers for our county.
