Lead Mental Health Clinician/Clinical Supervisor - CRISIS

 

 

About the Position

Under the direction of a designated 411 East Lake Director, the Lead Mental Health Clinician will coordinate,

implement, monitor, and assist in planning and developing program activities in an assigned area. The Lead

Mental Health Clinician/Clinical supervisor will oversee assigned staff in said program area and provide a

minimum of 10 hours of direct clinical services to children and/or families weekly.

Pajaro Valley Prevention & Student Assistance, Inc (PVPSA) has been the leader of youth prevention and

intervention services in the Pajaro Valley since 1991. We believe that every young person in our community

Duties and Responsibilities

• Program administration duties. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Work in partnership with leadership to develop plans, activities and procedures that can contribute

to the success of the program and PVPSA

• Provide crisis assessments and oversee all crisis referrals

• Support the team, agency staff and client/family during and after client hospitalization

• Engage in conflict resolution and re-entry meetings at school sites

• Engage clients and families in safety planning and means removal

• Engage and collaborate with community, school, and/or county partners

• Provide trainings for school staff and agency staff as needed

• Participate in interviewing and in the training of new employees in crisis protocol

• Review and assignment of new referrals by staying abreast of staff caseloads, school assignments,

office availability. May include coordinating referrals to other resources within or outside PVPSA

• Inter and intra agency collaboration to support staff working with complex clients (ex. safety

planning, psychiatry referrals, hospitalizations, sentinel event reporting, etc.)

• Support the Director/Supervisor with HR tasks as needed (i.e. ensuring adequate coverage,

complete staff evaluations and/or PIPs, approve timecards and mileage, etc.)

• Participate in staff meetings, in-service trainings, conferences, and workshops

• Staff caseload consultation and support as requested (clinical support received primarily in

Supervision)

Direct service delivery to eligible children and their families. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Conduct evaluations, assessments and counseling services of referred children, adolescents and

their families in a school, home or community-based clinic setting

• Bill services in a timely manner through designated EHR and follow documentation guidelines

• Complete paperwork at required frequencies (consents, progress notes, assessments, etc.)

• Connect with client families, school personnel, and supporting agencies to best coordinate client

care. Provide wrap around support including case management and collateral support

• Provide therapeutic interventions that are goal-oriented utilizing evidence-based modalities. May

include group therapy, family therapy, and individual sessions

• Work with other members of the treatment team (clinical supervisors, MHRS, case managers, etc.)

to provide individualized, effective clinical care

• Participate in staff meetings, in-service trainings, conferences and workshops

• Adhere to all confidentiality requirements and mandated reporting laws.

• Strength based and cultural appropriate services

Ability to:

Work with children, adolescents, families, peers, and community partners

• Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of people, including

community, media, schools

• Communicate efficiently to diverse audiences

• Identify, develop, prepare, and evaluate training and educational materials

• Assess students behavioral and emotional strengths and challenges to make knowledgeable

recommendations and/or design appropriate service plans

• Bilingual/Bicultural skills a plus and eligible for additional compensation as noted

Training and Experience

Requires Licensure, a master’s degree with a major in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage, Family and Child

Counseling and a minimum of two years’ experience as a Licensed Clinical supervisor. Must meet the

minimum qualifications of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences to supervise MFT or MSW trainees,

Interns and Associate Social Workers. Bilingual, English and Spanish, desirable. LCSW highly desired.

Salary and Benefits:

$89,440.00 - $98,607.60 per year ($43.00 - $47.41 per hour). Initial offer based on experience. There is an

additional $2.50 per hour bilingual pay available after passing a bilingual test. For contract positions, an hourly

rate consistent with current industry standards will be offered.
